Course Overview:

The AHA PALS Instructor Course equips participants with the skills necessary to effectively teach resuscitation courses.

• Duration: The course is approximately 16 hours, consisting of:
  • 8 hours of individual online study
  • 8 hours of classroom training and practice

Before attending the classroom portion, participants must complete the PALS Essentials component and print the Certificate of Successful Completion.

• Motivated to teach: Committed to facilitating learning and ensuring students acquire necessary skills for successful course completion.
• Student-focused: Views assessment as an opportunity to enhance individual knowledge and skills.

Qualities of a Successful Instructor Candidate:

• Strong desire to teach
• Excellent BLS performance and problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow directions and complete tasks
• Effective communication skills in group settings

Instructor Candidate Prerequisites:

To participate in the instructor course, candidates must:

1. Hold a current AHA PALS Provider card.
2. Complete the Instructor Candidate Application.
3. Successfully complete the AHA PALS Essentials Online course.

Submission Requirements:

Before attending the course, candidates are required to submit the following to our Training Center:

• A copy of the current PALS Provider card (front and back)
• Completed Instructor Candidate Application
• A letter of recommendation
