Prerequisites: You are required to complete the online PALS Precourse & Self-Assessment prior to the instructor-led course.  The online course will take about 4-hours and is completed online.  Before taking PALS, students should have a mastery of infant and child BLS skills. They should also be able to recognize various heart rhythms, be familiar with different types of airway management tools and their use and have knowledge of the drugs commonly used to treat cardiovascular irregularities.

AHA E-Exam Option:  You will be sent a link to the AHA PALS online exams.  We encourage you to start the exam in advance of the course and use your AHA PALS Provider Manual as a reference for the questions you don't know.  You can stop and start this as many times as you wish, but once you complete all 50 questions and hit the submit button, the exam will be scored.  A passing score is 84% for the e-exam.  If you don't pass or can't complete the exam prior to your course, you will have an opportunity to complete it at the end of the second day of class.

BEFORE THE COURSE, it is required to review and understand the information in your PALS Provider Manual and successfully complete the Precourse Self-Assessment with a passing score of 70. Please visit:  https://elearning.heart.org/course/427, and click “Launch Course”. This course is free. If you are asked to pay or enter any credit card information, you have selected the wrong course. You will be required to turn in the scores from your completed self-assessment.
